TAM  stabilized zirconias are electrically fused combinations of Zirconium Oxide and approximately 4% Calcium Oxide.  This gives products with about 75% cubic zirconia plus 25% monoclinic zirconia.  

Stabilized zirconia is used for bulk insulation in furnaces and heaters, in refractory compositions, as setter sand, and for other applications requiring an inert, high temperature material, such as investment casting of alloys.  Stabilized zirconia is also employed as a grinding material and as an engineering ceramic due to its increased hardness and high thermal shock resistance.
